How to Refinish Concrete?
Our concrete resurfacing process is an affordable, non-destructive way to renew your home’s concrete flooring. Step 1 - Grind It!
After ensuring that the surface is assessed to be structurally sound and washed of dirt, the following steps are grinding, sanding, shot blasting, and milling the floor.
We would then vacuum the floor to remove dust or residue before applying the epoxy or primer.
Then, we use an industrial vacuum to pick up even tiniest dust particles.
Step 2 - Repair
The next step in the process is priming the floor. This will give the concrete a longer life and better adhesion. It means it won’t have any bubbles when we apply our final layer!
All cracks will also be filled with resurfacing material using a trowel. We’ll make sure that these are filled without leaving air gaps for dirt.
We apply 100% solids to patch up any cracks and uneven surfaces in the concrete flooring.
Step 3 - Coat It
For the first coat, we will be observing how well your floor holds up. If any cracks or holes remain from previous repairs, this new layer should patch them all up and fill any holes or cracks. We then add a strong adhesive and the epoxy coating.
Step 4 - Flake It
At this point, your concrete is starting to take form. Our skilled installers will evenly distribute the decorative flake or quartz you’ve selected. These will be embedded into the wet material as it cures.
A polymer flake is hand cast to provide even color & texture to the floor.
Once that happens, they’ll become bonded with each other in an everlasting bond for years.
Step 5 - Scrape It
Finally, we apply a UV stable polyaspartic topcoat. It will become permanently embedded as the material cures and forms a strong bond with the concrete below. Scraping off any excess flake is critical for ensuring that your pavement lasts as long as possible!
Your new floor will be ready for light foot traffic after 6-8 hours.
Step 6 - Seal It
The final step in our process is to apply a clear coat. This provides a beautiful glossy sheen and brings out the color of your concrete floor.
To do this, we use polyaspartic urethane, which is highly resistant to chemicals and stains. You can enjoy your floors for years without worrying about them becoming damaged over time!
